The orchestra, under the direction of Dr. William Larue Jones will feature Aaron Coplands’ Fanfare for the Common Man; Ashokan Farewell by Jay Unger, featuring Tom Shadonix on violin, and Variations on a Theme by Haydn by Johannes Brahms.
To round out this concert, the Symphony is proud to announce the world premiere of a new violin concerto composed by our very own Concertmistress, Nancy McFarland Gaub. Titled Violin Concerto in D, this is a work in three movements– Winter’s Ascent, Night Music, and Child’s Play, and we are honored to present it with Ms. Gaub as soloist.
