BIOGRAPHY
A dedicated and energetic instructor, Megan Hofeldt is committed to instilling a life-long love of music and learning in each of her students. Based in Central Iowa, Megan is the Instructor of Flute at Central College in Pella and Grand View University in Des Moines. She also teaches lessons to junior high and high school students through the Central Music Academy in Pella and her home studio in Huxley.
Megan has performed with the Ottumwa Symphony since 2002 when she was a student at the University of Iowa. She now holds her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Flute Performance. In addition to performing with the OSO, Megan enjoys frequent chamber music collaborations with her colleagues throughout the Midwest, judging flute competitions, testing prototypes of new flute models, and representing Miyazawa Flutes at the annual National Flute Association Convention. When she isn’t playing and teaching, Megan is proud to have her full-time job as “mom” to her sweet daughters Addison (age 6) and Alivia (age 5).
