Chances for Youth
The Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra is proud to offer you a chance to own this beautiful piece of art created by Judge Annette Scieszinski. Annette was a Symphony supporter and a cherished member of the Orchestra Guild, who passed away in early 2021. Besides her career as an attorney and judge, she was also passionate about the Arts and was delighted to participate as a member of the Guild in the creation and execution of decorations for the Christmas Ball. Two examples of her work are on permanent display in the lobby of the Bridge View Center.
In addition to her support and enjoyment of the arts, Judge Scieszinski actively promoted and encouraged young people as a 4-H leader for 25 years. Her family has kindly gifted us with an oil painting from 2005 entitled ‘Pastoral Tapestry’ which will be displayed at all our concerts this season. How would you like to display it in your home?
The Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra is delighted to announce plans to launch the establishment of a Youth Orchestra to serve students in the Ottumwa regional neighborhood. We are happy to provide you the chance to affirm and support Judge Scieszinski’s passion for celebrating and encouraging the efforts of young people, by inviting you to purchase a $5.00 chance to own this beautifully framed painting. All proceeds from this undertaking will be used to launch and support the Ottumwa Symphony Youth Orchestra. Tickets will go on sale at the March 5 concert and sales will continue until the May 7 concert, at which time the winning ticket will be drawn and the painting will go home with its new owner.
You may purchase as many tickets as you like. The drawing will take place at the May 7 concert at Bridge View Center, which will feature the winner of the Young Artist competition. Your presence is not required to be named the winner. Thank you for supporting the Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra.
